Pressure transducers and pressure transmitters convert pressure readings into signals sent to a  display, controller, or PLC to monitor and control pressurized
systems. The difference between the two is that transmitter sensors convert readings into milliamp (mA) output signals, where transducer sensors transmit signals into millivolt (mv) or voltage output signals.

Pressure transmitters and transducers fall into three output signal categories:

  • Millivolt output transducers have a low output signal
  • Voltage output transducers provide a higher output level
  • 4-20mA output transmitters are best for long-distance transmission
